'I'm a flight attendant and there's a strange reason we have to keep our hair up'

When you're going on holiday, flight attendants are there to make you feel comfortable and safe on the plane. They look smart, they're professional, and they can really put you at ease if you're a nervous flyer.

Female flight attendants always seem to look super put together. Their hair is slicked back into a perfect style, their make-up looks on-point and their uniforms are super smart. But there's a deeper meaning behind why they keep their hair back, which TikToker and flight attendant @itsmekikooooo shared with her followers.

She posted a question over a video that she gets asked very often: "Why do cabin crew have to have their hair up?"

The video continues with the flight attendant styling her hair to put it up into a sleek bun, while explaining: "The answer: If your hair is longer than 15 centimetres it needs to be in a bun or up.

"This is because, in the event of an emergency, it needs to be out of your face. It's also professional looking for the company."

She then said at the end of the video that her bun wasn't perfect, but she was 'working on it'.

In the comments, people praised the flight attendant for how she tied her hair back, with one user saying that she looked 'professionally beautiful'.

"You are so stunning", another praised.

Some gave her some encouraging advice to make her bun better too, with one writing: "Get a hairnet and pins and it will look much tidier and will hold better!"

Others said they didn't feel comfortable having their hair up for work, as one explained: "I got offered to be an air hostess and I ditched it cos I had to have my hair up. I hate my ears!"

The revelation comes as another TikToker has shared his stressful in-flight experience as his fellow passenger persistently pulled the window blind open which disturbed him.

The bloke took drastic action to stop the passenger in their tracks, as he tapped their hand away from the window.
