I'm A Celebrity viewers complain moments into final as they call for show to be 'cancelled'

I'm A Celebrity fans fumed moments into this year's final as they called for the show to be "cancelled".

The show has made its return to Australia for the first time in three years, having aired from north Wales for the last two series. Ant McPartlin and Dec Donnelly returned to host the ITV jungle show again this year.

However, as the final aired its opening moments, fans of the show were quick to take to social media and make their complaints known as they fumed over the show early on. The show has been on for three weeks and ends in a dramatic final tonight.

Either three of the remaining celebrities - Owen Warner, Jill Scott and Matt Hancock - could be named King or Queen of the Jungle and fans of the ITV show won't have to wait too long to find out who they have crowned their winner.

Taking to Twitter, fans fumed minutes into the show - as they slammed that Mike Tindall hadn't made the final three.

"The final should have been Jill, Mike and Owen and Matt should have been gone a LONG long time ago. But the British public are idiots as we know so........ Even if he wasn't Matt Hancock he's such a BLAND campmate and he'd have been out early if he wasn't who he is. #ImACeleb," one annoyed fan wrote on Twitter as they complained over the final three.

A second added: "Seriously though, if Matt wins, we should cancel the show and never let the idiot public vote for anything ever again. Just in time for Big Brother's return next year. It was already a bad joke that Mike and Seann left before he did. Get it together people! #ImACeleb," as a third shared: "i miss mike already bring him back #ImACeleb."

"Rooting for @_OwenWarner to win #ImACeleb tonight - his enthusiasm throughout has been infectious and it’s clearly meant so much to him. Would be happy for Jill Scott to take the crown too. Still in disbelief that Hancock is in the final instead of Mike though. #OwenWarner to win," a fourth penned, with a fifth writing: "How did Matt make it to the final, especially instead of Mike? Even if he was a normal sleb he is awkward, cringey and totally unself-aware. #ImACeleb."

The show hasn't been short of complaints this year - with over 3,000 Ofcom complaints in the last couple of weeks.

TV regulator Ofcom has now received 3,287 complaints, with a total of 1,764 relating to Matt Hancock's presence in the jungle. The majority of the other complaints relate to the treatment of the West Suffolk MP, Ofcom confirmed.

This comes after Ofcom issued a statement last week in a blog post on its website, following a deluge of complaints regarding the programme. The statement read: "It’s worth being aware that under our rules, in principle - and taking into account freedom of expression - there's no ban on any particular person taking part in programmes.

"However, if the mere presence of a person is likely to cause offence, we would expect broadcasters to take steps to mitigate or justify that offence. How they do that editorially, is up to them. As usual, we'll be assessing all these complaints against our broadcasting rules, before deciding whether or not to investigate."
