I'm a Celebrity...things you might not know about Chris Moyles - from weight loss to BBC sacking

I'm a Celebrity Get Me Out of Here contestant Chris Moyles endured three-weeks of hardship in the jungle camp. The former Radio 1 DJ has been seen on our screens as he took part in challenges and chats during that time.

These have included bungee jumping in the very first trial - despite his fear of heights. But while that was a success others have not gone so well, reports the Liverpool Echo.

He failed miserably in the water trial, Boiling Point, and scooped just a single star in a bushtucker challenge. However he finally became the sixth person to be kicked out of the jungle when he was the latest to be evicted. Speaking as he left the camp he said he was "devastated".

And as he crossed the bridge to meet his girlfriend, said he couldn't believe that Matt Hancock had lasted in the jungle longer than him. He said: "I'm gutted that Matt Hancock is more popular than me, what the bejesus is going on?!?

Prior to hitting the TV screens on I'm a Celebrity... he was already a household name, best known for his work as a radio and TV presenter. But away from the limelight, there are a some areas which are not known as well. The 48-year-old has shared some details of his life with fellow campers.

On one episode of I'm a Celebrity, the star told how he was asked to leave his Radio 1 show in 2012. He gave MP Matt Hancock the low down on his BBC departure, telling him it had not been handled very well.

The DJ had worked for BBC Radio 1 for 15 years, with nine of those at the helm of the Breakfast Show. But, 10 years ago, his tenure came to an end as Nick Grimshaw took over the coveted breakfast spot.

Now, Chris has revealed exactly how he was told about the takeover - admitting that things "got a bit steamy". He said that the end of his time at the station left him feeling "a bit cross", because it was handled "so badly", Leeds Live reports.

Chris compared Radio 1 to a "conveyor belt", one that you might be on for "a year or 15". The DJ joined Radio X in 2015, hosting the new Chris Moyles Show. The programme is still going strong, airing from 6.30-10am on weekdays, with an additional pre-recorded show from 8-11am on Saturdays.

A few years ago, Chris decided to make a huge lifestyle change and has now lost an impressive six stone. The former Radio 1 DJ weighed 18 stone at his heaviest, but after changing his lifestyle, Chris now weighs 12 stone. The 48-year-old credits his girlfriend Tiffany, whom he started dating in 2015 after moving to Los Angeles during a career break, for helping him lose weight.

They became an item in 2015 but kept their relationship quiet for almost two years. Moyles and Austin made their first public appearance together at at Jamie Oliver's now-closed Barbecoa restaurant in London's Piccadilly.

Austin left LA to make the big move to the UK and they now live together in London, the Express reports.
