I'm A Celebrity star Babatunde Aléshé eyes up major career move after ITV stint

I'm A Celebrity star Babatunde Aléshé has revealed that he wants to try his hand at becoming a TV presenter.

The comedian - who was voted off out of camp last night - got his big break when he toured with close pal Mo Gilligan, who he has appeared with on Celebrity Gogglebox.

Mo has become a TV host in recent years, having fronted his own shows and the Big Breakfast. Babatunde would like to see if he's got what it takes to present himself in the future.

Speaking in his first interview since leaving the jungle, he said: "I have a tour coming up. I have quite a few sold-out dates, I am grateful for every single sold-out date.

"Whatever comes next, honestly I'm grateful. I sat behind a desk for six years and never saw any of this coming so whatever comes I'm going to be grateful because I didn't see any of this."

He continued: "I would absolutely like to try presenting if I get the chance to learn a trait like how to present and learn that skill. I want to learn how to do it and not just jump into it because I might be the talk of the town now."

"I appreciate the art of presenting. There is an art and a skill to it and I don't think I have it. So I need to learn or I can learn on the job," the former campmate added.

Babatunde, 36, was speaking after coming out of the jungle on Wednesday night. He said he was proud to last 19 days on the show when he had considered quitting at times.

He said: "There were many low moments. I learnt that I have the capacity to endure and keep going because I never gave up.

"There were times when I could really just say let me leave the jungle and come back home and be with my family but I just didn't give up and every day was an achievement for me."

And discussing I'm A Celebrity, Babatunde said that he would like Owen Warner (pictured) to win (ITV)

He continued: "Every day waking up in the jungle I was happy that I never said I'm out." Babatunde added: "I learnt that I'm braver than I gave myself credit for. Stepping into the jungle you have to be brave.

"Facing the trials, you have to be brave and working for the team you really have to step outside your comfort zone and work with people that you don't know so I realised that I'm a brave person."

Asked who he wants to win I'm A Celebrity, he picked Hollyoaks actor Owen Warner. He said: "I would love to see Owen win. I think he's a courageous young man and he's just so cool man I really do like him."

I'm A Celebrity continues tonight on ITV and ITV Hub from 9pm.
