I’m A Celebrity’s Coleen Rooney praised for reaction while needing medical help on show

Coleen Rooney has been praised by viewers as she remained calm as she needed medical treatment in her latest I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! trial.

The TV star, 38, has proven herself a force to be reckoned with throughout the series, tackling Bushtucker Trials and camp chores with determination.

However, in her most recent challenge, she faced a nightmare scenario for any celebrity contestant—an insect crawling inside her ear.

The unexpected incident required medics to step in and immediately flush her ear.

At the Bushtucker Trial clearing, Ant and Dec welcomed Coleen Rooney, Danny Jones, GK Barry, and Reverend Richard Coles to the aptly named Arcade of Agony.

The four campmates were the first to compete for a coveted spot in the epic Celebrity Cyclone trial and a place in the grand final. Each celebrity was assigned a grabber machine, and every ball they retrieved contained tickets they had to deposit into a collection box.

While it sounded simple enough, this being I’m A Celeb, the challenge was anything but straightforward.

Throughout the trial, the celebrities faced heaps of critters in their grab boxes and had to dig through piles of fish guts to collect coins for their machines.

Adding to the chaos, bugs rained down on their heads throughout, including cockroaches—one of which made itself a little too comfortable with Rooney.

When the klaxon signaled the end of the trial, she emerged from her booth shouting, “I’ve got one in my ear!”

A medic quickly arrived to assess the situation and used a syringe to carefully remove the bug.

Host Ant McPartlin shouted: “Oh my god, it just jumped out!”

Her calm demeanour was praised by viewers, with one penning on X: “Coleen wasn’t even bothered by the bug in her ear. Queen”.

“How was Coleen so calm with that in her ear?!?!?!” another commented.

A third remarked: “ERRRUH THAT CRAWLED OUT COLEEN’S EAR”.

She’s not the first campmate to face a critter-related mishap—2022 Queen of the Jungle Jill Scott also needed medical assistance to remove a bug from her ear, while Olympian Fatima Whitbread famously had a cockroach lodged in her nose.

I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! continues tomorrow at 9pm on ITV1 and ITVX.
