I'm A Celebrity's Babatunde dropped huge hint to ex-campmate ahead of jungle stint

Babatunde Aleshe dropped a huge hint to an I'm A Celebrity icon about going on the ITV show - but they had no idea.

The actor and Celebrity Gogglebox star is swapping the comforts of his sofa for the hammocks in the I'm A Celebrity camp in the Australian jungle. He will join nine other stars already confirmed when the show starts on Sunday night.

And now Babatunde has revealed to The Mirror that he had dropped a huge hint to a former I'm A Celebrity star about his jungle stint in a bid to try and get some more information ahead of the upcoming series.

Speaking to The Mirror and other press about what made him decide to do the show, he said: "When I was first asked, I was mentally like, No, I can't, there's no way I'll be able to do it, I wouldn't be able to do it. But then when it came back around for this year, I'd had time to think about it and, you know, really picture myself in there. So it was just a bit of time."

He added: "You're not supposed to really talk to anyone about it. The only person that had gone in that I did kind of make a hint at was Joel Dommett. He was just explaining his time in there - but I kind of just kind of kept it cool with him.

"I didn't really go into too much details. I was just like, okay, trying to get some information, trying to see how it was for him. And I was just like, okay, cool. And then just kept it moving."

Babatunde sits alongside The Masked Singer star and comedian Mo Gilligan on Celebrity Gogglebox, and he thinks his friend and co-star would have a great reaction to his jungle stint.

Asked what he thought Mo's reaction would be, he added: "Oh my God, he'd be crying with laughter.

"If Mo was to watch me, he would be dying of laughter. I know what that guy's like and seeing me suffer and seeing me face my fears would be the funniest thing to him."

Babatunde is also excited about being face to face with TV legends and hosts Ant McPartlin and Dec Donnelly.

He shared: "I'm excited, man. I'd love to meet them too. I used to watch them too when I was proper small when they were in Byker Grove and all of that when it was PJ and Duncan. So now meeting them is gonna be a dream come true. I'm excited."
