I'm A Celebrity...Get Me Out Of Here! presenter Ant McPartlin joked the show "should have stayed in Wales" as the rain poured down during the latest Bushtucker Trial of the series. This year the famous ITV programme has returned to the Australian jungle after a two-year stint in Wales.
In 2021 and 2020 the programme took place at Gwrych Castle in Abergele due to the "continued uncertainty" around Covid-19 and international travel. Based in the county of Conwy, the gorgeous 200-year-old building and its stunning Welsh surroundings were home to two batches of celebrities, however, the show returned to the jungle for 2022, with Ant and Dec looking forward to the sunshine.
Speaking on Heart radio earlier this year, Ant said: "The plan is we're going back to Australia. It's got to go back to its spiritual home. Everyone wants to see a bit of sunshine at that time of year on the telly."

However, ironically, the weather took a turn for the worst during the latest instalment of the new series, which saw comedian Babatúndé soaked to the bone as he took on the Bushtucker Trial, Horrifying Heights, in the pouring rain.
The trial saw Babatúndé lifted 100ft in the air as he attempted to collect stars. Ant explained to him: "Once you collect a star, all you have to do is clip it to yourself. Every star you collect is worth a meal for camp. The last star, you have to get, will require a leap of faith.”
Babatúndé confessed: "This rain ain’t helping… just my luck," before Ant continued: "You’ve probably noticed it’s started to spin as well now… could it be any harder?"
As the trial continued, the rain began to get heavier, with the presenters commenting on the trial from under huge umbrellas. "Come to Australia they said, it will be sunny," Ant said, before adding: "I mean we might as well have stayed in Wales."
Those who tuned into the show last year will remember that camp was forced to shut due to adverse weather conditions caused by Storm Arwen. Precautionary measures were put into place by production and the celebrities were even evacuated as I'm A Celeb was taken off air for the first time in 19 years as bad weather battered Wales.
