I’m a Celebrity odds: Hollyoaks’ Owen Warner favourite to be crowned King of the Jungle

The hungry Hollyoaks actor is now favourite to take the jungle crown

Owen Warner has risen as a fan favourite to take the crown as King of the Jungle, in this year’s I’m a Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here! finale.

Hollyoaks star Owen Warner is now the audience choice, according to 10-11 odds from Coral.

Although he has not been at the top of the betting lists, the soap opera actor has been edging out fellow contestants in the past few days.

Coral’s Lewis Knowles said: ‘’Jill Scott has been our favourite to win it for much of the show, but punters have certainly come for Owen Warner in recent days, and he’s now taken top spot in that market.’’

From a memorable bushtucker trial with MP Matt Hancock to a playful conversation on working out with Seann Walsh, the notoriously hungry camper has toppled Scott from the top of the leaderboard, now at 7-4 odds.

‘’As the odds would suggest, it looks a two-horse race at this stage, and we’ve seen very little in the way of support for any of the other contestants in recent days,’’ added Knowles.

Having been installed as one of the favourites to win this year’s series, in the last day, Mike Tindall has seen his odds drifting and the chances for the ex-England international to be crowned king of the jungle seem to be slipping away.

His popularity among viewers has fallen and bookmakers have thus shifted Tindall’s odds from 2/1 to 8/1, leaving him in third place – followed by Matt Hancock at 12-1.

A British Gambler spokesperson said: “Having been one of the most popular contestants to enter the jungle, the support for Mike Tindall has started to fade as Owen, following his incredible performance yesterday, has been installed as the new favourite to be crowned king of the jungle this year.

“Mike, for all the right reasons, is keeping a tight lip about his private life. As a result, viewers have lost interest and moved on to the ’next big thing’. And this happens every year.

“The reason Harry Redknapp won over the nation was because he opened up about his life, his beloved wife Sandra, life in the limelight etc, which won him all the votes. However, as a royal, Tindall couldn’t do this and this is what’s costing him the votes.”

Meanwhile, Boy George looks like the next to return to UK life, with 1-5 odds, as the Culture Club singer has butted heads with a few other cast members and cost himself the public’s affections.

Here’s the full odds for who may be next to leave the depths of the Australian jungle:

  • Boy George 1/5
  • Chris Moyles 3/1
  • Matt Hancock 8/1
  • Seann Walsh 6/1
  • Babatunde Aleshe 20/1
  • Owen Warner 100/1
  • Jill Scott 100/1
  • Mike Tindall 100/1
