I'm A Celebrity Matt Hancock's first words to Gina Colangelo heard by viewers

Former health secretary Matt Hancock had an emotional reunion with partner Gina Colangelo as I'm A Celebrity...Get Me Out Of Here came to an end on Sunday night, November 28. The MP came in third place and walked across the famous bridge to his other half.

Hancock quit as health secretary as footage of him and Gina kissing in a Downing Street office emerged, at a time when guidance was issued for Brits to limit social contact with people in other households, Chronicle Live reports. Hancock ended up leaving his wife for government aide Gina and when asked by his I'm A Celebrity co-stars why he did what he did, he used the excuse of "falling in love," for both his cheating and flouting rules that he himself helped to enforce.

Going into Sunday's final and after Mike Tindall's shock exit a night earlier, bookies named Hancock as their second favourite to win, with him overtaking one time favourite Owen Warner in the odds. However, after causing an upset by beating Mike to the final, Hancock's luck ran out as he finished in third, leaving Jill and Owen to go head to head for the win.

After being told by Ant and Dec that he'd finished in third, Hancock was then interviewed by the hosts, telling them he wanted to show that he "was human," in the jungle rather than "the Matt Hancock they see on TV." He said he fully expected his co-stars to be shocked at his arrival in camp, before going onto to say he wanted eventua l I'm A Celebrity winner Jill Scott to triumph.

And then as he wrapped up the interview, Dec told Matt that Gina was waiting for him, before he was reunited with her at the end of the show's famous bridge, that all the celebs walk across when they leave. The couple embraced in a hug, before the camera cut back to Ant and Dec to continue the show, however, just as the hosts re-appeared on screen, Hancock was clearly heard telling Gina: "I love you so much," before Ant quipped: "He's out, there you go."

Many viewers expressed their relief at the result. One tweeted: "Jill and Owen is a wonderful final two. Either of them is a Worthy winner. Thank God Hancock isn't winning," with a second writing: "YES JILL OWEN FINAL TWO thanks to the british voters for actually getting something right for once."
