I'm A Celebrity favourite leaving the show after 20 years

One I'm a Celebrity star will not be returning to the show, after 20 years on screen.

The next series of I'm a Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here! is here is just around the corner but a staple of the show has decided to call it quits. After being on call as the shows go to medic, Medic Bob is set to be replaced by another professional who won't be shown on screen.

The topic was discussed on This Morning with Phillip Schofield confirming it was the first series he's ever missed in Australia. For the past two years due to covid regulations, the show relocated to Wales where Bob's assistance wasn't needed.

Phillip said: "Medic Bob will not take part in I'm A Celebrity which returns this year. He's been a familiar face since the series began in 2002 now replaced by a different medical expert who will not be seen on TV."

Holly Willoughby, Gyles Brandreth and Nick Ferrari shared their favourite moments of the medic from the past two decades. His most memorable scenes included assisting health coach Gillian McKeith after she fainted live on air and fetching a cricket out of football legend Harry Redknapp's ear.

I'm A Celeb hosts Ant McPartlin and Declan Donnelly have confirmed a new version of the show will be filmed outside of the UK - but not in Australia.

The presenting pair took to Twitter on Thursday afternoon to share some very exciting news with fans. In a short clip, the Geordie lads can be seen in an idyllic location as they confirmed a new "special version" of the popular programme.

Dec said: "We've got news, it's probably the worst kept secret in television, but we are doing a very special series of I'm a Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here in South Africa! It's going to be your favourite celebrities from the last 20 years who are going back in to do it one more time".

Ant asked his partner to clarify as he said: "But are we going to Australia?". Dec added: "This year, we'll be in Australia. Australia, 2022, South Africa, 2023."
