I'm a Celebrity fans think Owen Warner is on the 'wrong show' as Hollyoaks star on-screen mum says he has 'no common sense'

Owen Warner has been bringing plenty of entertainment since the new series of I'm A Celebrity ...Get Me Out Of Here! launched on Sunday night. The Hollyoaks heart-throb has been making viewers of the the hit ITV reality show laugh

Owen, who plays hunky Romeo Nightingale in the Channel 4 soap, is among the famous faces in the camp alongside the likes of Boy George, Coronation Street's Sue Cleaver, Loose Women star Charlene White, rugby star Mike Tindall and radio DJ Chris Moyles. Fans were tickled from his arrival when he didn't appear to know who people were.

As they arrived one-by-one by boat to a marina, he asked George and Sue who property expert Scarlette Douglas was. Singing legend Boy George said: "She’s from A Place In The Sun."

But Owen, 23, replied: "Whereabouts?" to which the Culture Club star told him: "No, like the TV show." In Monday night's episode the gaffe's continued as he asked Mike if his wife Zara, King Charles' niece, was Australian.

Then Chris tricked him into thinking he was a three times UK world champion dancer and Owen asked if he would teach him ballroom. Owen admitted: “I want to be like an unreal [dancer]… be able to take a girl and be like…[mimics twirling a partner around].”

Chris said: “Oh yeah, easy. I’ll just give you a few moves, really simple. Not like a routine, just simple moves. It’s easy dancing…”

Speaking to Loose Women star Charlene White later, Chris said of Owen: “He’s a sweetheart, but I reckon I can tell him anything. Do you reckon he’ll fall for this - my dad invented the treadmill?”

Fans of the show reckon Owen would be more suited to Love Island, especially after seeing his glam arrival by boat to the glistening marina in the launch episode as he showed off his torso in a low-buttoned shirt.

@MooAndDrew tweeted: "I think @LoveIsland have got to sign up Owen Warner for 2023." @GemmaHaverty asked: "Does he know this is I’m a Celebrity not Love Island??" And @ReenieRoo said: "I feel like #Owen may have signed up for the wrong ITV show by mistake. It’s deffo not Love Island babe."

@wildflowervoll6 also wondered: "Did owen think he was going on Love Island?" @onlysmols asked: "Are we 100% sure that Owen knows this isn't Love Island?" @ursroseanne commented: "Owen belongs on Love Island, not I'm A Celeb." And @MissWeatherill said: "Owen Warner looks like he should be on Love Island in that outfit."

Fans were wowed by his six-pack as he was seen taking his first jungle shower. Owen and comedian Babatúndé Aleshe used the shower and Babatúndé said: “Me and Owen decided to use the shower - and it’s cold. It’s very cold, very cold.

He joked: "And you know, me, I’ve got a ‘dad bod’, one pack. Nation, come on, representing for all the dad bods out there! And then obviously here comes ‘Mr Heartthrob Owen’ with his six pack and he’s just there flexing and doing his thing…” Babatúndé said to Owen: “Look at this guy, I’m coming gym with you when I come out.”

Owen's on-screen mum, former Coronation Street star Lucy-Jo Hudson, who stars as Romeo’s mum Donna-Marie in Hollyoaks, said her co-star has "no common sense" but is expecting him to do well in the show. She told her followers on Instagram on Sunday: “Well I expected nothing less…. my on screen son @_owenwarner…. Absolutely smashed it tonight in @imacelebrity.

“He’s already coming across exactly how I thought, his lovely, genuine self! Who is an absolute sweetheart, and an old school gent… he’s also got no common sense whatsoever…. which you will have seen tonight and I know he won’t mind me saying that, because he laughs at himself!

Good Luck Owen, continue to be yourself and everyone will just fall in love with you…. proud of you, your mama xxx."
