The exit of Shaun Ryder and Gillian McKeith from I'm A Celebrity is still the talk of social media as some viewers now claim it was a 'fix'.
The Happy Mondays star and former TV presenter had to leave the new Legends version of the hit ITV show, being hosted by Ant and Dec in South Africa, after losing out on a trial which left fans fuming about the format change which meant they could not vote for who they wanted to leave. Now some believe that 'legend' Ryder had wanted to go and picked McKeith believing it would secure his exit.
The pair were the first two campmates to leave I'm A Celebrity's All Stars jungle and Ryder had been asked to choose who he wanted to compete with in the trial. Some viewers think he chose McKeith because he wanted to go and suspected she was the weakest teammate, The Mirror reports.

Among comments about the show on social media were several calling Ryder a legend with one fan saying: "Shaun definitely took one for the team picking Gillian. He’s a legend" and another adding: "Love Shaun even more now!! Totally selfless".
Other remarks included: "Shaun played a classic hand. He goes home with full pay and takes out his nemesis and saves his mates. Legend" and "It's a shame there isn't a public vote, Shaun would still be in there! My favourite contestant gone but he knew what he was doing, legend."
One wrote: "So sad to see him go, but he knew what he was doing, bless him" and another viewer said: "Shaun is a smart man. In choosing Gillian he knew he’d go out. I think he’s older now and couldn’t be a***d."
After leaving the jungle, former You Are What You Eat presenter McKeith talked about being picked to do the challenge, remarking of Ryder: "He said he had to pick someone to do the trial.
"I thought there’s no way Shaun is going to pick me. I’m the last person you’d pick, right? He comes back and I’m lying there, enjoying my bed, chatting to Janice and he then says he had to pick someone. I hear my name and I said ‘what, is this pay back for 2010’? Honestly, why did he pick me? I tried to convince him to pick Fatima as he might have won (the trial)."
She added: "I wanted to win, I’m not a defeatist at all. And I really want to take my best shot but, because it was a race, just as I got started we lost.
"I’m disappointed by the way that I had to go out. I didn’t want to leave. I think if it was voted for by the public I would have had more trials."
