I’m A Celebrity… South Africa viewers were left shocked as Monday’s, April 24 episode ended with the return of yet another ex-campmate. Scottish TV presenter Gillian McKeith surprised the rest of camp by, quite literally, jumping out of a box.
“I couldn’t let you do this without Jungle Gill!” the 63-year-old shouted and the rest of the camp screamed. One person who didn’t seem particularly happy was Happy Mondays singer Shaun Ryder, who famously feuded with Gillian when they appeared together on the show in 2010.
Over on social media, people were quick to comment on Gillian’s return to the ITV show. They couldn’t help but pick up on the fact that the presenter had opted for a radical change in hairstyle, possibly for practical reasons.
One person said of Gillian’s hair: “Not fake doctor and professional poo rustler Gillian McKeith showing up with f***ing braids, who does this woman think she is?” A second then echoed: “NOT GILLIAN MCKEITH ROCKING THE BRAIDS.”
A third said: “GILLIAN MCKEITH ON IM A CELEB AGAIN WITH F***ING BRAIDS NAH IM SO DONE HAHAHAHAHAHA.” And a fourth added: “Oh Gillian Mckeith in braids, Shaun looks well happy to see her, there’s going to be fireworks me finks #ImACelebrityAU”

A first look at Tuesday’s, April 25 episode has teased how Shaun Ryder reacts to Gillian’s arrival in camp. He says in the Bush Telegraph: “Gillian came out of a box. I was very surprised. I probably could have done without it being Gillian, yeah.”
Later on in the Bush Telegraph, Gillian says: “How do I feel about Shaun Ryder being here? I said hello, he said hello, it was all very cordial. What can I say?”
In camp, Paul asks Shaun about his last experience of being in camp with her: “Is she as mad as a box of frogs?” Shaun then replies: “Yeah… I nearly killed her.”
