I'm A Celebrity fans call out Matt Hancock over false claim during final

I'm A Celebrity 2022 finalist Matt Hancock shared his "gratitude" over making the live final during Sunday's episode.

But amid the backlash from viewers over his show success, the disgraced Tory MP made a comment that was immediately called out.

Hancock was speaking about making it to the final, when he confessed he was in disbelief to have "seen it all the way through" on the show.

The former Health Secretary said in the Bush Telegraph: "I can’t believe I’m in the final. It’s brilliant. I've seen it all the way through, I’m just so grateful."

But fans of the series were very quick to point out this wasn't exactly true, and Hancock hadn't lasted as long as fellow finalists Owen Warner and Jill Scott.

Hancock was a late arrival to the show alongside comedian Seann Walsh, with his debut airing three days after the launch episode, meaning he was around three or four days behind the others.

Perhaps Hancock meant he had made it all the way from the moment he joined the show, but fans were not having it.

Taking to Twitter, viewers shared their responses to the comment with one writing: "You came in late."

Another viewer agreed: "You haven't seen it all the way through Matt as you came in late!" as a third said: "F**k off matt, you haven’t seen it all the way through you were a late arrival x."

It comes as Hancock was revealed to have made the live final during Saturday night's episode, alongside Owen and Jill.

Viewers were soon predicting who would win the show, with many desperate to not see disgraced Hancock take the crown.

Taking to Twitter, one viewer begged: "Alright now, joke over. We CAN'T let Hancock win."

A second viewer agreed: "So close to having the perfect final 3. Matt can’t win," as a third said: "Can't wait to see Matt Hancock's face when he doesn't win."

Others said Jill was going to win the series for sure, with a tweet reading: "I can’t wait for Jill to win."

Another read: "Jill will win, Matt will come second and Owen will come third!! Not the outcome I want but I think this is what will happen."

A third hoped: "Soooo… we all agreeing Jill to win?" as a fourth said: "Need jill to win."

Meanwhile, first to go from the jungle was Loose Women and ITV News star Charlene White, with TV presenter Scarlette Douglas second to leave.

Coronation Street actress Sue Cleaver was next to go, sparking a sexism row over the vote, while the fourth exit of the series saw campmates wave goodbye to singer Boy George.

Fifth to exit was comedian Babatunde Aleshe, followed by radio star Chris Moyles and then comedian Seann Walsh, who entered with Hancock as a late arrival, was seen leaving on Friday night.

Mike Tindall was the last elimination before the final on Saturday night.
