I'm A Celebrity got off to an awkward start for Babatúndé Aléshé as he forfeited his first task of the series within minutes.
He did attempt the scary plank challenge, The Ledge, but he soon decided it wasn't for him and quit the task.
The 2022 series started with a bang, hosted by Ant McPartlin and Dec Donnelly, as the first 10 stars slowly made their debut.
Unluckily for Babatúndé, he faced the dreaded plank alongside Jill Scott and Charlene White.
The task sees the contestants having to walk along a narrow plank which is suspended on top of a 32-story building - but this time there was an added twist.
Ant explained: "One at a time you’ve got to walk to the end of your planks. When all three of you are in position, on our cue, you’ve got to step onto the yellow ledge at the very end. You’ve got to lean forward, using a rope behind you to stop you falling off.”
Dec added: “There are three stars up for grabs here, each one of them is worth a meal for camp tonight. You need to remain on the ledge for 60 seconds. When the time’s up, in order to win your star, all you have to do is let go of the rope. Then gravity will take over.”
Ant then said: "If you fall from the ledge before your 60 seconds is up, you’ll automatically lose your star."
Babatúndé was nervous before it even began, saying: "It’s windy, that’s contributing to the water in my eyes…"
As it was his turn to go, he attempted to urge himself on by telling himself, “Just go! Just go!”
But after a few minutes, suddenly he said the famous line “I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!” and withdrew.
Speaking about why he chose to forfeit his go, Babatúndé explained: “I said I was determined to be here. I wasn’t determined to be there [pointing to the plank].”
Viewers watching the moment were all saying the same thing, as they shared a big prediction about what it would mean for the contestant's time on the show.
While some fans defended Babatúndé over his reaction, others guessed he would be voted for all if not most of the upcoming Bushtucker Trials after Sunday's episode.
One viewer said: "I think Babatunde might have booked himself a few challenges."
Another tweeted: "The general public putting Babatundé on speed dial on #ImACeleb," as a third agreed: "Everyone’s gonna vote for Babatunde to do the trials now."
A fourth fan commented: "Babatunde defo wants to get voted for every trial if he’s calling i’m a celeb on the first one," as another said: "Everyone’s deffo going to be voting for Babatunde every trial now."
I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here! 2022 continues Monday at 9pm on ITV and ITV Hub.
