The start date for this year’s instalment of I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! has reportedly been revealed.

The new series is set to return to the Australian jungle for the first time since 2019 and now it has been alleged that the launch date is a mere two weeks away after being pushed forward due to the Qatar World Cup.

According to The Sun, the show will air from Sunday, November 6, ahead of the World Cup kicking off on November 20.

An ITV spokesperson told the outlet: “We’ll announce the start date for the new series of I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here! in due course.”

The Standard has contacted an ITV rep for comment.

Celebrities rumoured to appear in the new series include Mike Tindall, Boy George, Olivia Attwood, Lionesses star Jill Scott, comedian Seann Walsh, Celebrity Gogglebox’s Babatunde Aleshe, and broadcaster Charlene White.

The series has reportedly been brought forward due to the Qatar World Cup (ITV)

Attwood’s reported appearance would make her the first Love Island contestant to walk into the jungle, with show bosses previously choosing not to sign up the dating show stars for the beloved series.

Previously a TV insider told The Sun: “This is a sign that the dating favourite is now so big and produces figures with such high profiles that they can no longer be dismissed.

“Olivia is already viewed as a rising star on ITV and this is likely to serve as a launchpad for potentially fronting more mainstream shows with the broadcaster.”

For the past two series, viewers have seen a change in camp, as it moved to Gwrych Castle in Wales, due to travel restrictions during the pandemic.

Due to these changes, the King and Queen of the castle were crowned in a new location, with the author and podcast host Giovanna Fletcher and former Emmerdale star Danny Miller winning the 2020 and 2021 competitions.

I’m A Celebrity 2022 is set to look different, as it’s planned it will return to the series’ original home in Australia.

Announcing the news earlier this year, ITV said in a statement: “Autumn also brings I’m A Celebrity which makes a welcome return to ITV from the Australian jungle.”
