I’m A Celeb’s return to Australia 'in chaos' as highly infectious disease rages near camp

I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here’s return to Australia is said to be in chaos as a highly infectious disease called Q Fever rages through the country.

As ITV is set to return Down Under to film the hit celebrity reality show for the first time in years, alerts have been issued across south-east Queensland for the disease, which can spread through the inhalation of contaminated dust.

The much-loved ITV show has been filmed at Gwrych Castle in North Wales for the past two years due to the Covid pandemic, but hosts Ant McPartlin and Declan Donnelly will be back in Australia this November.

New images have shown certain buildings being erected in Oz as the production team get to work on prepping the first Bushtucker Trial for the participating celebs – just days before the rise in cases of Q Fever across the region.

Q Fever or Query Fever is said to be most commonly transmitted to humans who work with animals and is transmitted through their faeces, urine, milk and general bodily fluids.

Symptoms in humans range from a flu-like fever through to significant weight loss, chronic fatigue for as long as 12 months, and damage to organs.

A source told The Sun : “I’m A Celebrity’s return to Oz was so important to ITV and was something fans of the show were hugely excited for. Another infectious disease is really the last thing ITV needs.”

The I’m a Celeb camp shots showed what appears to be a wild west themed saloon opposite an outhouse, and both buildings are surrounded by plenty of trees and greenery.

Another photo showed that the infamous bridges are already up and running within the jungle, as well as the main studio where Ant and Dec host from every single night for three weeks.

A different image shows what appears to be a large swimming pool filled with dirty water and plenty of ropes attached to several trees above.

Bushtucker trials featuring water are certainly popular on the ITV show, and now that bosses have sunny weather back on their side, the celebrities won't be freezing in the Welsh winter climate.

Instead the 12 famous faces will be sleeping in hammocks amongst the trees as Australia's summer season kicks in.

It's unsure which lucky celebrities will be jetting off to Australia to partake in the 2022 series, but there's been plenty of rumours.

The likes of Danny Dyer, Tom Daley and Peter Crouch are all on the list, but no one has been confirmed as of yet.
