I’m A Celebrity viewers spotted campmates' reactions as Matt Hancock took part in another trial on the ITV reality show alongside fellow campmate Owen Warner.
The pair had been voted by the public to take part in Saturday evening’s Bushtucker Trial, which was a jungle-themed version of ITV’s Who Wants To Be A Millionaire? entitled ‘Who Wants To Look Silly On Air?’
Learning he’d be taking part, Matt laughed: “That was the most predictable outcome, it’s called looking silly on air, it will be me then!”
In the Bush Telegraph the pair labelled themselves ‘the dream team’ and all of this year’s celebrities left camp to watch them take part as they tried to secure 11 stars.
The pair were asked six multiple choice questions, with 60 seconds to give their final answer each time and a number of lifelines in the offing.
Hosts Ant McPartlin and Declan Donnelly quizzed the pair on what aspects of general knowledge they would be most comfortable with answering.
Owen said his specialist subject would be Leicester City Football Club’s 2016 bid for the Premiership League.
Then, Matt said he would be able to answer any questions on politics and history, which fans noticed left campmates including Jill Scott and Babatunde Aleshe laughing as they watched on.
Taking to Twitter, one fan wrote: “PLS EVERYONE LAUGHING WHEN MATT SAID HE COULD DO POLITICS.”
A second said: “Jill Scott's laugh when Matt said he could “Do Politics” was hilarious,” as another wrote: “The camp laughing at Matt when he said he could “do politics”.”
“Matt watching everyone laugh at him after he said he can do politics,” another echoed.
First up the pair were asked: “In the Harry Potter movies who played Sirius Black?” While they considered their answer they were doused in brown sauce. They chose to ask hosts Ant and Dec and Ant correctly guided them to answer Gary Oldman.
When they then used an ‘Ask The Audience’ to their fellow campmates, they failed to help them win stars based on which Australian city the Hemsworth brothers were born in.
While trying to decide who hadn’t won a Sports Personality Award, Owen was veering towards Michael Owen. The campmates started to cough and make noises and were halted by the hosts.
Dec said: “We’re going to stop there as there was some audience cheating then… so we’re going to have to take your answer of Michael Owen.” It was the wrong answer and they lost stars, ultimately getting five of the 11 up for grabs.
Owen said: “I’m not happy man, I’m covered in all sorts and we’ve only got 5 stars… he [Matt] was doing well until you got me on his team.”
Later Owen admitted in the Bush Telegraph: “I’m feeling very disappointed, very deflated. I’m not the smartest geezer about, which is probably why I got put to do that. I feel a bit awful… I feel really tight that I’ve let the campmates down a little bit.”
I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here! returns tomorrow at 9pm (Sunday) on ITV and ITV Hub
