Paul Merson has questioned Liverpool’s decision to allow Sadio Mane to leave the club this summer.
Jurgen Klopp sanctioned the exit of the 30-year-old earlier this summer in a £35million deal with Bayern Munich. It saw Mane’s six-year stint at Anfield come to an end, winning six major trophies along the way.
Mane has already scored two goals since his move to Munich, including a key strike against RB Leipzig in the German Super Cup. In contrast, Liverpool are without a win in their opening two Premier League matches.

Merson has criticised Liverpool’s decision to allow Mane to leave Anfield for Munich. The Sky Sports pundit went on to offer his thoughts on what Klopp and co should have done, with Mane’s original deal with the Reds due to expire next summer.
“I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again – Sadio Mane is a huge miss for Liverpool,” wrote Merson, in his column for Sportskeeda .
“Why sell him for £30 million when you could’ve kept him around for a year and once again fought on all fronts like they did last Premier League season?”
