There was a shock in living rooms across the nation as Pigeon was unmasked as comedian Katherine Ryan on The Masked Singer. Viewers watching at home suspected that the sassy singing bird on the wacky ITV singing contest was The Only Way Is Essex legend Gemma Collins, and the star panel were also thrown by Pigeon's Essex accent.
So jaws dropped when the mask was removed to reveal Canadian star Katherine, who was heavily pregnant at the time of filming. Katherine kept appearing on the hush hush show a secret from her fellow The Masked Singer fan daughter Violet, 13. She said after the big reveal: “You can’t tell my daughter anything because she’d spill it to her whole school so she’ll be finding out with everyone else. We watch the show together.”
And Katherine, 39, went on to reveal the moment Violet saw the unmasking. In a hilarious video shared on Katherine's Instagram Stories and Twitter, Violet jumped to her feet and fumed: "Obviously. I knew this the whole time I knew it wasn't Gemma." And she asked her mum: "Why would you lie?"
