I have changed my mind on Everton being relegated after spotting Sean Dyche difference

We were stressing before Sean Dyche came to the club about where we would be picking up points.

I'm now much more hopeful we can stay up as I’ve seen a lot more in our performances, even when we have lost games. We are scoring goals and creating opportunities.

One of the big changes for me is the fact Everton are forcing other teams to take a different approach in matches. No one likes going to Goodison Park and it is an intimidating place to go. As a player from the opposition, your job is to try and quiet the fans down and make the game boring for the first ten or 15 minutes.

CHRIS BEESLEY: I don't know if we can still say Everton are bigger than Tottenham but they've got one thing right

We have been very guilty as a team for letting that happen far too often and being very defensive at home, which plays into the hands of the away team. Since Dyche has come in, that thought process has changed for the opposition as they know they have to be at it and match our desire. Dyche won’t let games go by. Our players have taken to that challenge and it shows the manager has got the backing of the players. We are no longer a soft touch.

Tottenham unrest likely to play into our hands

The pressure had got to Antonio Conte at Tottenham, which you could see by his final interview at the club where he’s asking questions of people in the club and on the pitch. As a player, you would rather have those discussions privately but maybe that has happened and he hasn’t received a reaction.

We just have to hope that cloud is still hanging over Tottenham, though they still have world-class players regardless and it will be a difficult game. If Conte leaving the club distracts the Spurs players, it is good news for us come Monday. We have been there ourselves as a team, when you’re playing amid uncertainty, and we know how harmful that can be.
