Ben Woodburn has opened up on the emotions he felt after being released by Liverpool this summer.
The 22-year-old left Anfield at the end of last month after his contract expired. Woodburn progressed through the youth ranks, and still holds the record for being the club’s youngest ever scorer at 17 years old.
Woodburn had several loan stints away from Liverpool during his relatively young career, and spent last season with Scottish premiership outfit Hearts. Now the midfielder has signed for Championship outfit Preston North End on a one-year deal.

Before signing for the Lilywhites, Woodburn had to take part in a week-long trial. After the trial, he was offered a contract and he already has one goal to his name during pre-season.
Speaking about the manner of his Liverpool exit, Woodburn has explained why needing to go on a trial was a bizarre experience for him.
“It was probably the first time I've ever been like that, where I've had to go on trial anywhere,” Woodburn told the Lancashire Post.
"It's maybe even brought another side, that I didn't know I had, out of me. I'm just trying to keep that up and take it into every game, that desire for the ball and to win and everything like that.
“I feel like I've had a lot of things happen in my career anyway and this is just another step. I've just got to keep building, keep playing well and the rest will take care of itself.”
