Danny Murphy has claimed he would be 'gobsmacked' if Manchester United sold Marcus Rashford in the summer.
The 24-year-old has reportedly been attracting interest from Arsenal in recent weeks after slipping down the pecking order at Old Trafford. The MEN Sport reported earlier this month that Rashford was considering his future at the club.
The academy graduate was left out of Gareth Southgate's England squad for the March internationals. However, former Liverpool midfielder Murphy has admitted he doesn't expect United's new boss to allow Rashford to leave.
"It's highly unlikely [he'll move] but if I was Arsenal I'd love to get Marcus Rashford through the door because he'd add quality to their frontline, definitely, absolutely no doubt about that," he told talkSPORT. "But Manchester United, at the moment, we know they're going to have a new manager and I'd be gobsmacked if the manager coming in didn't want to take Rashford and work with him because of the ability and talent he's got.

"Yes, he's having a bad time but the last two seasons 21-22 goals, he's a one-in-three career stat goals, you could argue he's got the potential to be better than that and I'd think he would be if he played down the middle more. More often than not, he plays wide and out wide he's pretty good, you're not going to compare him to [Mohamed] Salah but who does when you're playing wide?
"Arsenal, 100 per cent, if they've got a chance, get him. He's shown for many years he's capable of playing at the top level, international football and Manchester United, so going to Arsenal isn't going to phase him.
"He's a goal threat, he'd add great competition to that forward line because they haven't got great strength in depth in that area - that's been their problem - and with [Alexandre] Lacazette and [Eddie] Nketiah both looking like they're going or not signing new deals, they're going to need some bodies through the door."
