After wanting a massage gun for a long time, I finally took the plunge and ordered one when Aldi had them as SpecialBuy earlier this month.
Some of the best rated ones come in at over £200, way above my price range. But as Aldi's was £39.99, and had rave reviews, I decided to invest and I'm glad I did.
My first opinion was it has a pleasing aesthetic and feels like it will last, plus there's a three-year warranty in case it doesn't.

It's also extremely easy to use, with five different massage heads with 30 different intensity levels so you can really get into those troublesome muscle knots. It improved my aches and pains massively, and was well worth the money. You can read my full review of the Crane fitness massage gun here, though sadly it has now sold out.
However, when I was offered the chance to try out a £90 massage device from Amazon, with thousands of five-star reviews, I wondered if this would be any better than my cheaper purchase.
The Bob and Brad handheld percussion muscle massager is currently on sale for £89.99. It has a whopping 7,317 Amazon reviews, and an average rating of 4.8 out of five stars.
On opening the device, I noticed it looked sleeker and more dynamic than the Aldi version. It is also lighter, but incredibly powerful.
It has less massage heads than the Aldi one, but a much more comprehensive guide of how and where to use these for maximum effect, so I'd say the Amazon version is more user-friendly.
The main contest, though, is which provides a better massage and is more efficient at easing aches and pains? While the Aldi Crane massage gun definitely made my neck and shoulders feel much better, the Amazon device seems to be able to target the muscles more precisely, really getting into those knots quickly and easily.
Both guns are, in my opinion, a worthwhile purchase but the Bob and Brad massager is just that bit better, both in terms of aesthetic and in its results.
