A woman has come under fire online after she cleared the shelves of her local Tesco once she spotted a series of bargain items that she couldn't resist taking home with her. After sharing her findings online, Summer Sparks was trolled after admitting to 'clearing the shelf' at the popular supermarket.
Taking to popular Facebook group Extreme Couponing and Bargains UK group - which boasts more than a whopping 2.2 million members - Summer shared a quick snap of the boot of her car. The back of Summer's motor was full of clearance laundry items - from washing pods to fabric conditioner.
Alongside three snaps of her shopping content, Summer wrote: "Tesco.. right place right time."
"And yes, we cleared the shelf. Just in case anyone was wondering - alongside laughing and applauding emojis," she added.
Sharing a snap of Fairy's Washing Pod Liquid Capsules, Summer caught a glimpse of the reduced price tag where the product retailed for just £2 instead of the original £3.99.
Meanwhile, Surf's Fabric Conditioner was reduced by 50% - now retailing at £3.50 rather than its original £7 price tag.
While some people praised the Facebook user for her watchful eye at Tesco, other slammed the bargain hunter for taking the items home for herself.
Having raked in over 100 comments on her post, Summer - among other family members - jumped in to defend her decision.
Taking to the comment section, one person fumed: "Don't see the point in putting the post up if you cleared the shelves. Yes, I probably would have taken a few but wouldn't feel right myself taking the lot."
Defending herself, Summer responded: "Because there's more than one Tesco in the country. If they're being discontinued then it will be in more than one store."
Meanwhile, a different angered Facebook user said: "Those posts are just to get a reaction. There are a lot of people on this group that think it's ok to think about themselves, forget about everyone else then have a go at people who do think about others."
"Apparently not being selfie is a bad thing these days - sad world we live in," they added.
Summer's family member Nikkola Sparks shot in with a defence: "Oh grow up these were split between three families."
