I can’t stop thinking about Gisèle Pelicot’s daughter, the ‘forgotten victim’ of the court case

If Gisèle Pelicot wasn’t already a worldwide icon, her new memoir will surely solidify her as one. In A Hymn To Life, out now and available in 22 different languages, the 73-year-old describes her side of the biggest rape trial in French history.

The 2024 Pelicot trial exposed over a decade of abuse carried out by Dominique Pelicot, Gisèle’s former husband of 50 years. From 2011 to 2020, Dominique Pelicot repeatedly drugged and raped his wife, and invited over 70 other men to do the same. His crimes came to light thanks to the discovery of hundreds of recordings of these rapes, leading to the bombshell trial that shook the world.
