When Are the Best Times to Shop for Rug Deals?
The best time to buy a rug in a sale is at the end of a season, so if you missed a sale, don’t worry — rug deals pop up when you least expect them. Winter styles, like heavy textures and darker color palettes, often go on sale in spring and summer, while light jutes and bright colors tend to see markdowns in the cooler months. Technically, we’re always in an "off-season" for something, so always be on the lookout for those sneaky discounts.
Some end-of-season sales are on now and then the next major sales event will be after-Christmas sales starting the day after Christmas.
Are After Christmas Rug Sales Better Than Black Friday Rug Deals?
"You are going to get good deals in both the Black Friday and after-Christmas rug sales," says Lindsey Davis, content director for homes ecommerce. However, if you find a great rug deal now, don't hang about, as although prices could drop lower for the after-Christmas sales, chances are the stock will be much more limited, so it may be gone by the time you go back to it.
Are There Rug Sales on Martin Luther King Day?
"Martin Luther King Day is a great time to get a good deal on rugs," says Lucy Searle. "However, you won't see the up to 70% rug discounts you see over Black Friday and sometimes after Christmas. Most large retailers that participate in MLK Day rug sales tend to offer around 20% off sitewide, which means the big savings on rugs are to be had in late fall and just after Christmas, rather than late into January (in 2025, MLK Day falls on January 20th)."
Are There Rug Deals On Presidents' Day?
Presidents' Day rug deals usually go live on the day (Monday February 17th in 2025) or the Friday before (in 2025, that's Valentine's Day; what a gift!). The discounts on rugs aren't quite as competitive as they are across the Black Friday/Cyber Monday weekend but you will find discounts similar to those on MLK Day, around 20 to 30%.
