Neil Warnock has spoken of his surprise at the chances Darwin Nunez missed for Liverpool against Manchester City.
Nunez endured a night to forget as Liverpool’s defence of the Carabao Cup came to an end at the hands of Pep Guardiola's side. Ci ty claimed a 3-2 victory at the Etihad.
However, Nunez spurned three glorious chances at different points in the game. Although he did claim an assist for Mohamed Salah’s goal.

Even though it has been a tough start for Nunez in English football since he joined the club from Benfica in the summer, he has still managed nine goals in 19 matches in all competitions. However, he can’t help but be judged against what Erling Haaland is doing for City.
Haaland has scored 18 goals in his first 14 Premier League matches and opened the scoring for his side last night, and Warnock believes if the Reds would have had the Norway international up front then they would have won the game.
“If Liverpool had Haaland they would've won easily, the chances Nunez missed I can't believe the chances he missed,” he told talkSPORT.
“But I thought what a good sign for Liverpool, the best I'd seen for a while and I just thought with the players missing they might try get something at the back in January if they can. I just thought it was promising for Liverpool.”
