Liam Shaw intends to convince Celtic boss Ange Postecoglou he's the club's next big star, and that can only be good news for Motherwell fans.
The 20-year-old has signed a deal at Fir Park until the end of this season and says Graham Alexander has him earmarked as a box-to-box midfielder, which suits him down to the ground.
Shaw signed for the Glasgow giants in June, having moved from boyhood heroes Sheffield Wednesday on a four-year deal, but says a discussion with the Australian boss saw him head out on loan.
He has only turned out twice for the Hoops, but that includes a debut against Real Betis in a Europa League match in December, and Shaw hopes he has what it takes to impress a new group of supporters.
That could start in tonight's Premiership clash against Ross County in Dingwall, and Shaw said: "I feel that I've learned a lot from being at Celtic, and I've improved as a player, training day in, day out. The tempo is really high.
"Now I'm ready for the next stage, and to get some games.
"I want to play in this league, I need to play games. I spoke to the gaffer at Celtic about what was my best option; he said 'go out and hopefully get as many minutes as you can' and then come back next pre-season.
"I think it's important to prove to Celtic what I've got.
"I've come here to prove myself, get as many games as I can, and it's up to me now to hopefully get the chance to play and see what I can do.
"Hopefully I can perform well on the pitch for the Motherwell fans, help the club win as many games as we can.
"I like to think I can get goals; hopefully I can get as many as I can, cos I like having goals in my game.
"There's no better feeling than scoring a goal in front of fans."
Shaw has settled in well, and says a huge reason for that is having a manager who believes in him, in Graham Alexander.
He said: "It's really good, I'm looking forward to trying to get some games and some minutes under my legs. It's going to be a good experience, playing in the Premiership, so I'm really looking forward to it.
"About my position being a 'number eight', he [Alexander] says he likes the way I play, and that's good for me, because that's my favourite position, so I'll try to get as many minutes and gain experience of playing in this division and this type of football, so it's all good.
"I think being a box-to-box midfielder is my strongest position, and the gaffer sees that the same way as well, so he's happy."
"When I spoke to him he seemed to be a really good manager, he knows what he wants and it was a good chat with him.
"It's nice to hear that he likes what I do, what my game's based on, and I just want to get out there and prove to him and me that I can do it.
"All the lads have been great, they've made me feel really welcome, they're a great group of lads, they're funny, and I'm really enjoying it."
