A 34-year-old woman was found dead inside an OYO hotel room in SR Nagar on Tuesday, hours after the man staying with her allegedly left the hotel. He reportedly told the staff that the woman would check out after breakfast. Police suspect that a quarrel between the two late at night may have resulted in a fatal assault.
The accused has been identified as 38-year-old A Srinivas, who allegedly left the hotel at around 3.30am. Police teams are currently searching for him.
The deceased, B Sirisha, worked as a bank customer care executive and was a native of Nagasamudram in Vikarabad district. Police said she was in a relationship with Srinivas, a native of Obulapur village in the same district. Sirisha was a divorcee.
Couple Allegedly Used Fake Aadhaar Cards
According to police, Srinivas had been staying at the hotel since September 9, while Sirisha joined him in the room on September 24.
The two allegedly submitted Aadhaar cards carrying false names as identity proof while checking into the hotel. Srinivas reportedly registered under the name Ganesh, while Sirisha allegedly used the name Durga.
Hotel Staff Found Woman Dead
Police said Srinivas left the hotel around 3.30am on Tuesday and allegedly informed the reception staff that Sirisha would leave later in the morning after breakfast.
However, hotel employees reportedly received no response when they repeatedly rang the doorbell. After there was still no response until noon, the staff alerted the police.
In the presence of police personnel, hotel employees opened room No. 103 using a duplicate key. Sirisha was found lying dead on the bed. A food plate was also found beside her.
Police Suspect Fatal Assault After Quarrel
Jubilee Hills DCP A Ramana Reddy said police suspect the couple had an argument before the incident.
“We suspect that Sirisha and Srinivas had an argument in the night and he attacked her with a blunt object, causing death,” Jubilee Hills DCP A Ramana Reddy said.
Police have registered a murder case against Srinivas under Section 103(1) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita.
Forensic Team Examines Hotel Room
A Clues team examined the hotel room and collected forensic evidence as part of the investigation. Police have also obtained CCTV footage from the hotel to track the movements of the accused and establish the sequence of events.
Special teams have been formed to trace Srinivas. Police teams have been sent to his native village, while investigators are also checking bus stands and railway stations in an attempt to locate and apprehend him.
