A two-year-old dog who has spent nearly 300 days in rescue is hoping a rap written by rescue staff will help him find his forever home. A member of staff at Manchester Dogs Home came up with the lyrics hoping to find the right family for husky cross, Diesel.
Diesel arrived at Manchester Dogs Home 289 days ago, having been transferred from another rescue centre where he’d arrived as a stray and remained unclaimed.
Anthony Bilson, a spokesperson for Manchester Dogs Home, said: “Hardly anyone contacts us about him, and the ones who do contact aren't really suitable for his needs.”

And so, Ant devised a song in the hopes Diesel might find a home through the medium of music.
To a funky backing track, Ant spoke on behalf of the pooch, introducing Diesel and sharing some background into his story. He said: “I was nervous when I arrived and a bit confused, but I’m getting better now and I’m less bemused. With time and patience I’ve found new friends, but I’ll need a new home now, and on you I depends.”
Diesel promises he’s a good boy and won’t snore, adding: “Call me Harry Styles because I’m going in One Direction, home with you, hopefully - that’s what I’m hoping for.”
The young dog is rather unique looking, with large ears and a pointed face with a happy smile and husky-style markings. He’s hoping to find a home where owners have experience with husky breeds due to his bouncy nature and need for some ongoing training.
Ant added: “He is quite nervous of the big wide world and staff are socialising him as much as possible to show him life isn’t that scary after all. Diesel also cannot live with cats and children must be over the age of 16 years.”
If you think you can give Diesel a home, you can find out more information on the Manchester Dogs Home website.
