Husband’s name was also on the title deed, yet he was ordered to vacate the house: Why Kerala High Court ruled in wife’s favour

The Kerala High Court recently ordered a husband to vacate a house where he was staying, despite his name also being on the property’s title deed.

The case involved Mr Kurudankandi, a resident of Thalasseri in the Kanur district, Kerala. On September 15, 2012, Kurudankandi married Smt Shereef. According to the submission to the court, Smt Shereef’s father gifted Kurudankandi 5000 Saudi Rials and also bought a house in the joint name of his daughter and son-in-law for the couple’s happy married life.
