A wildfire, known as the Hurst fire, ignited in the Sylmar neighborhood just above San Fernando around 10:30 p.m. The fire is currently spreading rapidly due to high winds, posing a significant threat to nearby communities. The state fire department CAL Fire has issued warnings about the dangerous conditions created by the fire.
As a precautionary measure, an evacuation order has been put in place for the area located north of the Interstate 210, which is situated just north of Sylmar. Additionally, evacuation warnings have been issued for parts of the Granada Hills North neighborhood, located southwest of the highway.
