ORLANDO, Fla. — Hurricane Zeta, now a Category 2 storm, is chugging along even faster as it bears down on the Louisiana coast, which has already been slammed by four other named storms this year.
Zeta's maximum sustained winds increased to 110 mph, according to the National Hurricane Center's 4 p.m. update. The hurricane is 60 miles southwest of the Grand Isle, Louisiana, and is moving north-northeast at an accelerated speed of 22 mph. Its hurricane-force winds extend outward up to 35 miles from its center and tropical-storm-force winds reach up to 150 miles.
