The latest update from the National Hurricane Center reveals that Hurricane Milton has intensified with winds reaching 145 mph. The storm is currently moving northeast at a speed of 17 mph.

As of the latest report, Milton is situated approximately 190 miles away from Tampa and 160 miles from Fort Myers. The storm is expected to continue weakening as it nears landfall and interacts with a frontal boundary.

Despite the anticipated weakening, the impact of Hurricane Milton remains severe. Florida is bracing for life-threatening storm surge, destructive winds, and dangerous flooding rain.
