Hurricane Milton Causes Dangerous Flooding And Wind In Central Florida

Hurricane Milton is currently wreaking havoc across central Florida, causing widespread flooding and damaging winds. The state's east coast is now experiencing hurricane-force wind gusts, with Cape Canaveral reporting a gust of 76 mph and Daytona Beach recording a 75 mph gust.

As a Category 1 hurricane with sustained winds of 90 mph, Milton is located just 30 miles from Orlando and is moving east-northeast at a speed of 16 mph. The storm is expected to move offshore of the state's east coast before sunrise on Thursday, with rain and wind gradually subsiding during the morning hours.
