Harris Health System will cancel elective procedures and close outpatient facilities and administrative offices. Texas Children’s Hospital will remain open as scheduled, while The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center will resume patient appointments at noon on Monday.
The Michael E. DeBakey VA Medical Center in Houston will be closed for outpatient appointments on Monday, along with several clinics in Beaumont, Conroe, Humble, Katy, Richmond, Sugar Land, and Tomball. Some clinics in Lake Jackson, Galveston, and Texas City will be closed on July 8-9.
Major ports in Texas, including Houston, Galveston, Freeport, and Texas City, have ceased operations as Hurricane Beryl approaches landfall. The United States Coast Guard has implemented Port Condition Zulu, leading to the suspension of all cargo and bunkering operations at these ports.
