Hunter Biden to appear for private deposition on February 28th

Hunter Biden agrees to private deposition with House Republicans on February 28th.

Hunter Biden is set to make a private deposition before House Republicans on February 28th, marking a crucial development in the ongoing investigation into his business dealings and their potential connection to President Biden. The deposition, which will take place behind closed doors, comes after Republicans agreed to delay Hunter Biden's contempt of Congress charge in exchange for his testimony.

The House Oversight Committee is eager to question Hunter Biden about specific transactions and meetings related to his business activities. Chairman James Comer has emphasized the committee's commitment to conducting a thorough investigation and ensuring that all the relevant questions are answered. Hunter's associates are also expected to testify, shedding further light on the intricacies of his business ventures.

Recently, Hunter Biden's friend and lawyer, Kevin Morris, appeared for a closed-door interview on Capitol Hill. Morris divulged information about the financial support he has provided to Hunter, including paying his tax liability for several years and purchasing half of his art collection, which has garnered significant attention and fetched approximately $1.5 million.

Furthermore, Morris disclosed that he had extended more than $5 million in loans to Hunter, with repayment not due until 2025. There have been suggestions these loans could potentially be forgiven. Morris's visits to the White House on three occasions during President Biden's tenure have also raised questions about potential implications for the investigation.

Hunter Biden currently faces felony charges stemming from special counsel David Weiss's investigation. Some of these charges relate to his failure to pay over $1 million in taxes. Instead of fulfilling his tax obligations, Hunter withdrew $1.6 million from ATMs and made substantial payments to various women, including nearly $200,000 on adult entertainment expenses.

The upcoming deposition is seen as a significant win for House Republicans, as it presents an opportunity to access first-hand information from Hunter Biden. However, there is speculation about whether he will fully cooperate and answer all the questions posed or potentially invoke his Fifth Amendment rights. Given the highly controversial nature of the investigation, there are concerns that the February 28th date may be subject to further delays.

As the date approaches, anticipation builds within Congress and the public as to what revelations may emerge from Hunter Biden's deposition. Both Republicans and Democrats are closely watching the proceedings, which may shed light on the extent of Joe Biden's involvement in the alleged Biden family schemes. Only time will tell if this deposition will provide the definitive answers sought by lawmakers and the American people.
