A Welsh couple will be going on the run in a bid to win £100,000 as Channel 4 show, Hunted, returns for its sixth series. Meurig, 30, and girlfriend, Elinor, 22, will be attempted to be stopped by a team of professional Hunters. Read more about the show's comeback here.
In the first episode of the new series, which airs on Sunday, May 22, contestants set off from the Isle of Wight. In dramatic scenes, the 11 people taking part have to make their way off the island as a helicopter surveys them. Viewers will see the group arrive on a deserted beach with just a small amount of cash and a change of clothes. In a race against each other they’ll have to find their way back to the mainland before being caught.
The competition, itself, will be somewhat harder for Meurig as at the start of the pandemic, he contracted Covid-19, which led to him developing blood clots on his lungs. A supportive Elinor stood by her boyfriend. He cites his reasoning for taking part as: "proving people that [he's] not ill"
