St George Illawarra captain Ben Hunt says he has no interest in leaving the club despite a stand-off with the Dragons over a contract extension.
The halfback has arguably been in career-best form in 2022 in a struggling Dragons side but has yet to put pen to paper on a new deal.
Hunt can talk to rival clubs about his 2024 destination from November 1 and with a dearth of good halfbacks or hookers - a position where he starred for the Queensland State of Origin side this year - the 32-year-old is likely to be hot property.
The Dolphins, Canterbury and Gold Coast have all been mentioned as possible destinations for the Maroons star.
But after Sunday's 24-22 win over Wests Tigers, Hunt insisted there was only one place he wanted to play.
"Every day there seems to be something popping up," he said.
"I'll just wait until the season's over and I've only got one more week.
"We'll get it sorted out and we're working through it. I enjoy the club and I'm happy to stay."
Hunt will be 34 when the 2024 season comes around but has looked worth every cent of his $1.2 million contract.
The Dragons insist their offers have been commensurate with his worth, although the knock-on effect of Hunt staying may result in highly rated playmaker Jayden Sullivan leaving the club.
Sullivan, 20, played hooker against the Tigers and there is a school of thought that he and Hunt may be best suited to switch roles in 2023.
Hunt has only played in the finals once during his five-year Dragons stay and there have been reports that he wants clarity over the future of coach Anthony Griffin before making a decision.
The pair are close and there have murmurs of division with the Dragons camp, something Griffin denied on Sunday.
"I haven't got any idea about that," Griffin said after the morale-boosting victory.
"Last week was a good week and although today wasn't pretty; to win gives you enjoyment and belief."
