House of the Dragon viewers have been left on the edge of their seats over the last 10 weeks by the violent family war, political scheming and of course those fire-breathing monsters. But two characters that have caused much intrigue confusion are two twin brothers, who are played by a real set of identical twins, Luke and Elliott Tittensor.
Ser Arryk and Ser Erryk Cargyll are two sworn knights of the Kingsguard, who got their first real taste of on-screen action in the Game of Thrones spin-off during epiosde 9 when they began searching for King Aegon II Targaryen on the orders of Ser Otto Hightower. In what's set to become one of the most tragic plotlines of the entire show, the twins have taken different sides in the war, with Arryk staying with the Greens and Erryk leaving to join Queen Rhaenyra and the Blacks.
The beefy Kingsguard knights with their massive beards are worlds away from how we were first introduced to Luke and Elliot.
The child stars both appeared in Brookside, but really became well known when they shared the role of Carl Gallagher in Shameless.
The lads look completely different now with their long hair in top knots, as Carl famously had to have all his shaved off because he kept getting nits.
They both played Frank's son Carl for the first series in 2004, then Luke left and Elliot continued to star in the show for nine series until 2013.
In August last year, Elliot looked comletely different in an appearance in Silent Witness with his long hair in a ponytail.
He has also appeared in the 2012 film Spike Island and was in 2017 movie Dunkirk.
As for Luke, he joined the cast of Emmerdale in 2003 as Daz Eden, with his las appearance as Andy Sugden's half-brother coming in 2009.
Since leaving Emmerdale, Luke has appeared in a guest role on BBC One school drama Waterloo Road in 2010, BBC drama The Body Farm in 2011, Holby City in 2012, Our World War in 2014, the film Madame Bovary in 2014, and drama Moving On in 2014.
Now the brothers have joined forces once again to appear in HBO series House of the Dragon - and they have a crucial role in the ongoing drama.
Posting a snap from the premiere of the series on Instagram, Elliot wrote: "Thank you @houseofthedragonhbo for getting us involved with this project. It’s been absolutely epic! A journey that was shared with so many beautiful people, cast & crew, who made the experience a ridiculously enjoyable one. None more than to work with my twin bro @luke_tittensor
"Game of Thrones is the only series I’ve watched all the way through and we stand on the shoulders on giants! I hope we can do everyone involved in the original show & the fans proud by continuing the greatness that is George R.R. Martin’s work. Legend the man sowing the seeds."
While Luke also shared a similar message to his Instagram page, writing: "Top night at the HOTD premier, capping off what was a truly beautiful experience. To share it with my twin bro @etittensor made it even better!
"A massive thank you to @houseofthedragonhbo for getting us involved with this project and to all the amazing cast and crew for making me feel at home.
"To step into a universe that I’ve watched and enjoyed was a blessing. I hope that we brought George’s world to life in a way that GOT did so well."
