Hungover Helen Flanagan has 'mum guilt' as she adopts new parenting technique

Helen Flanagan has taken to social media after she faced another bout of 'mum guilt' as a single parent following her split with ex-fiance Scott Sinclair last year.

The former Coronation Street actress has not been shy of admitting she is struggling to adapt to life as a single mum after the couple went their separate ways last year after 13 years together.

Helen and ex-Celtic player Scott share kids Matilda, seven, Delilah, four, and two-year-old Charlie. The 32-year-old actress has previously opened up about feeling 'mum guilt' and has even enlisted help from a childminder.

"I've just got the worst mum guilt today. I am so hungover," Helen shared with her one million Instagram followers following the bank holiday celebrations.

She added: "I literally can't remember the last time I was so hungover that I just like chilled in the house and I do feel guilty about it because the kids have just chilled with me all day and then my mum popped round and took Delilah."

Helen said that she has been finding parenting the three kids difficult as of late.

The 32-year-old explained her son Charlie, two, just "launches himself" at her and it "really hurts". She added: ""He has this thing where he just tries to headbutt me in the face every time and you can be chilling on the sofa and he just tries to whack you."

Charlie then caused further chaos for his mum when he took a glitter pen to the plush grey carpet. Helen looked defeated in the video as she explained the scenario to her fans.

Discussing her hangover, she said: "It just happens sometimes, doesn't it? I'm usually really good with my drinking."

"I wasn't really really drunk but I usually know my limit, but I'm sure I am not the only one in the boat of mum guilt and I don't make a habit of it," she added before pointing out she often does things with her kids every day.

Helen added: "Matilda, bless her, she is just such a good girl, she's a little angel. Then I felt guilty she is just sitting watching cartoons today I felt really bad.

Helen assured her followers she 'very rarely' takes a day in the house but still felt incredibly guilty for it. (hjgflanagan/Instagram)

"Delilah though, I don't know what it is she gets so jealous of her brother and sister when they get any attention, she has been really hard work.

"She was whacking me as well and I am thinking 'what is happening to my child' she obviously just wants attention."

Later Helen stayed up with Matilda whilst Charlie slept and the pair sat down to watch I'm A Celebrity All-Stars in which she has been filming for as she doted over her "gorgeous" girl. She then shared a clip of her hugging Delilah as she confirmed she will be testing out a new parenting technique.

She captioned the video clip: "Found these from today, love Delilah more than words but her behaviour was crazy today with hitting etc.

"Instead of shouting (always makes Delilah 100 times worse) I tried more gentle parenting," as she was seen in the clip cuddling her daughter asking what makes her sad and unhappy and she could "tell mummy anything" as they are "best friends."
