Renewed fighting has pushed Yemen into its worst humanitarian crisis since 2022, with hunger accelerating, hospitals overwhelmed and more than 200,000 people forced from their homes. As international aid funding shrinks, government troops have launched a counter-offensive against Houthi rebels with the ultimate aim of advancing on the capital, Sanaa, Yemen's ambassador to France told RFI.

Fighting in Yemen between the Iran-backed Houthis and government forces backed by Saudi Arabia resumed this summer, ending four years of relative calm after a United Nations-brokered ceasefire in 2022.
