Hungary’s new prime minister urges president to resign immediately

  • Péter Magyar, Hungary's incoming prime minister, has called for President Tamás Sulyok to resign following his party's landslide election victory.
  • Magyar stated that Sulyok, an ally of the previous leader Viktor Orbán, is “unworthy” and “unfit” to represent the Hungarian nation.

  • His proposed reforms include joining the European Public Prosecutor’s Office, restoring judicial and media independence, and suspending state media news broadcasts to ensure impartiality.
