Hundreds of Omicron sub-variant detected in England being investigated as hotspot areas confirmed

A new Omicron sub-variant identified in England is being investigated.

A total of 426 Omicron BA.2 infections have been confirmed by Whole Genome Sequencing in England from December 6.

London has the largest number of cases at 146, while the South East has 97, The Mirror reports.
