FAQs

Is Humble Bundle really pay what you want?

The pay-what-you-want model is at the heart of what Humble Bundle does, and has been since its inception in 2010. Although the brand no longer offers all of its products as pay-what-you-want, you'll still find many bundles on offer under this model.

As well as a choice of what you pay, you'll also be able to choose where that money goes, with complete control over how your money is divided between the creators of games, eBooks and software, different charities Humble Bundle supports and partners it works with, and the organisation itself.

For items sold through the Humble Store, you'll instead see products sold at set prices, but these are often subject to generous promotional discounts, and the proceeds of these purchases still go towards charitable causes.

What platforms does Humble Bundle support?

Humble Bundle supports a range of platforms depending on what kind of product you're buying. For games, you'll be able to redeem your product via Steam, Ubisoft Connect Desktop App, GOG, or another platform such as the Nintendo store. The brand also offers many eBooks and games DRM-free, giving you full rights and control to own, install and backup files on as many devices you like. The brand also offers software for both Mac, Linux and Windows.

What is Humble Choice?

Humble Choice is the platform's monthly subscription service, which offers users a curated mix of PC games each month, as well as 20% off titles across its range. You'll have the choice to choose paying monthly or yearly, with prices coming in at $14.99 per month or $154.99 annually, and 5% of your membership fee goes direct to charity.

What is Humble Bundle's refund policy?

Humble Bundle consider requests for refunds for up to 60 days after the date of your purchase, particularly for purchases made through the Store. However, in the majority of cases, Humble Choice subscriptions are non-refundable.

If you purchased the wrong item accidentally, make sure to make the correct purchase before requesting your refund just so you don't miss out on any limited-time promotions, discounts or sales. For Humble Bundle's full returns policy, head on over to their website.

Humble Bundle Saving Tips

Watch for sales

Although Humble Bundle does still offer many pay-what-you-want products, the products sold through the Bumble Store are sold at set prices, but don't fret - the brand regularly offers discounted prices of up to 85% off through a series of seasonal and flash sales. Keep an eye on this page to see all the latest price drops - we update our info whenever we can to bring you all the best ways to save.

Shop on a budget

Looking for a bargain? You can choose to shop for deals under $20, $10 and $5 to find specific titles on offer at low prices, making it easier to find new games if you're working to a strict budget. These offers are also updated regularly. Make sure to check in around the release of new games or big gaming events for additional chances to save.

Choose a longer Humble Choice plan

If you're planning to join Humble Choice - the platform's paid monthly curated games subscription - you'll have the choice of signing up monthly for $14.99 per month, or for a year for the price of $154.99. Although choosing the latter means paying more upfront, it also saves you around $25 versus paying month to month, making it well worth your while if you intend to stick with the service for the long run.

Browse bundles

As ever, you'll find plenty of pay-what-you-want bundles for sale through Humble Bundle, with prices starting from as little as $1. Although you won't find as much choice here as in the Store, this can be a great place to pick up a collection of new games if you're open to new suggestions, with plenty of options to choose from including by genre, franchise and more. If you're looking to save money, the pay-what-you-want model can be incredibly handy - just remember that the more you do pay, the more goes to charity (and you can even decide exactly where your money goes), so spend kindly!

How we source coupon codes

All the codes you see on PC Gamer have been sourced by our dedicated coupons team. Using our affiliate networks, partnerships with brands, and the world wide web, we track down the latest and best coupon codes and ways to save on your online orders. Our pages are updated multiple times a week, and our commercial team also uses their connections to negotiate exclusive codes with big name brands, so you can find all the best available codes and promotions listed in one place.

How we test coupon codes

To ensure that every code you see is ready to use, our team tests each one before uploading it to a page. Whether it's for free shipping, a multibuy offer, a student discount, or savings in the sales, we check that the code can be applied at the checkout and works as described. We don’t include any one-time or user-specific codes, so you haven’t got to worry about anyone else beating you to the punch, and you’ll find codes for products across all kinds of categories.

We also include all the information about a coupon, such as terms and conditions and the expiry date, on the page below the offer description. Simply click ‘Terms & Conditions’ and you’ll expand the code box, where you’ll be able to read any specific instructions or requirements associated with your chosen coupon. We do our best to update this information whenever any changes are made, with each page checked at least twice a week.

What to do if a coupon code doesn’t work

Despite our best efforts, sometimes coupons won’t work as expected. Expiry dates and terms and conditions can be changed by the retailer, or the code may simply no longer be accepted. Should you run into any issues, don’t worry - our customer service team is available to offer support.

The first port of call should always be to check the coupon’s terms and conditions to make sure you meet all requirements. Codes may be product-specific (i.e. 5% off gaming laptops), require a minimum order value (i.e. when you spend $50 or more), or need you to verify your status (i.e. verify with a valid military email address). Click the ‘terms & conditions’ text below the ‘Get Code’ button to view all available information.

If you’re still having issues once you’ve confirmed that you meet the necessary requirements, you can get in touch with our team by sending an email to coupons.pcgamer@futurenet.com. Include a summary of which code you tried to use, where you found it, and what went wrong, and we’ll reply as soon as we can to help out.

 How we make money

PC Gamer earns money from its coupon pages through a commission model. We have deals in place with every retailer that has a corresponding coupon page on our site. When you shop with one of these retailers and use one of our codes to get a discount, the brand will pay us a percentage of the final order total in commission.

Using this model means that redeeming a discount through PC Gamer never costs you a thing. We don’t charge any fees to apply a code, and all our money is made directly from retailers, not our audience. You’ll only ever pay for the products or services you buy, with lower prices just as they’re described on the page.
