Human remains found in a burned-out mill have been identified as a Vietnamese man missing since May.
They were discovered following a fire in Oldham, Greater Manchester in May.
Vietnamese national Uoc Van Nguyen was identified by cops after specialists investigated the fire site.
The 31-year-old was one of four Vietnamese nationals who were reported missing to the Greater Manchester Police on July 21.
They vanished during a blaze in Bismark House Mill, Oldham on May 7.
Uoc maintained regular contact with his wife until the date of the fire, at which time he said he was in a mill, Greater Manchester Police said.
Teams have been searching the remnants of the mill since demolition workers discovered human remains on July 23.
Detective Superintendent Lewis Hughes, GMP’s victim identification lead, said: “On behalf of all involved in Operation Logan, I send condolences to Uoc’s wife and his loved ones.
"Specially-trained officers are in direct contact with them and to ensure they are fully updated and supported.
“Inquiries are ongoing to establish why Uoc and other, currently unidentified, individuals were in the mill during the fire.
"Anyone with information which may assist us should contact Greater Manchester Police or Crimestoppers, anonymously.”
The Mirror reported last Friday how police had began searching Bismark House Mill in Oldham after human remains were found by demolition workers last month following a fire on May 7.
Greater Manchester Police also released the pictures of the missing men Cuong Van Chu, Uoc Van Nguyen, Duong Van Nguyen and Nam Thanh Le, who disappeared on July 21.
Cuong, 39, who arrived in the UK in June 2019, maintained regular contact with his wife and children, but they have not heard from him since May 7.
Uoc, 31, also kept in contact with his wife but she has also not heard from him since May 7, at which time he said he was in a mill.
The third man, 29-year-old Duong, arrived in the UK approximately 12 months ago.
He last contacted his family roughly three months ago, at which time he said he was residing in "an abandoned house" while looking for work.
After arriving in the UK in January this year, Nam, 21, last contacted his family on May 4.
At the time he said he was living in "a derelict house" in ‘Dam’, believed to be Oldham, while searching for a job.
Teams began searching the remnants of the mill after demolition workers discovered human remains on July 23.
It was first thought nobody was inside the building at the time of fire, police said.
