Hulu has submitted its crime drama 'Under the Bridge' for consideration at the Primetime Emmy Awards. The stars Lily Gladstone and Riley Keough are both in the running for an Emmy in the supporting actress category for a limited series or TV movie. They face competition from contenders like Sandra Oh, Kali Reis, and Diane Lane.
'Under the Bridge' is based on Rebecca Godfrey's book and tells the true story of 14-year-old Reena Virk, who went missing after a party in 1997. The series explores the perspectives of Godfrey (played by Keough) and a local police officer (portrayed by Gladstone), shedding light on the peers involved in the case.
The ensemble cast also includes Vritika Gupta, Chloe Guidry, Javon Walton, and others. Gladstone, known for her Oscar-nominated role in 'Killers of the Flower Moon,' continues to make waves in the industry with upcoming projects like 'Fancy Dance.'
Keough, a Primetime Emmy nominee for 'Daisy Jones & the Six,' has a diverse body of work including films like 'Zola' and 'American Honey.' She recently made her directorial debut with 'War Pony,' which won the Caméra d'Or at Cannes.
'Under the Bridge' was adapted by Quinn Shephard and features a talented team of executive producers. The series, produced by ABC Signature, premieres on April 17 with subsequent weekly releases. Emmy submissions are due by May 9, with the eligibility deadline for all series ending on May 31.
