Hull vs Chelsea LIVE: FA Cup result, latest updates and fan reaction

FA Cup LIVE: Hull vs Chelsea - (Getty Images)

Hull vs Chelsea LIVE

Chelsea are through to the FA Cup fifth round after beating Hull on Friday night. Pedro Neto was the hero for Chelsea at the MKM Stadium as he netted a hat-trick to ensure Liam Rosenior enjoyed a triumphant return to the club he enjoyed two spells at - as a player and as a head coach.

Estevao was also on target for the Blues in the second half, making amends for a glaring miss in the first half. The result means Chelsea can look forward to the fifth round draw which will take place on Monday evening. It was a return to familiar surroundings for Rosenior and the upturn in results since his appointment continues as his side are back to winning ways after throwing away a two-goal lead in the 2-2 draw at home to Leeds in the Premier League three days ago.

The hosts, meanwhile, will turn their attentions back to the Championsip as they are in a good place to earn promotion. Follow Hull vs Chelsea back below with Standard Sport's dedicated match blog, featuring expert insight and analysis from Dom Smith at the MKM Stadium!

Hull 0-4 Chelsea

Further gloss on the scoreline from Neto, as Delap helps himself to a hat-trick of assists. Chelsea have schooled Hull here.

GOAL! Hull 0-4 Chelsea | Pedro Neto ‘70

21:15 , Tashan Deniran-Alleyne

70 min: GOAL!

Chelsea passing the ball around with great confidence now and the Hull players look to have given up the chase.

Neto finds the back of the net with a crisp effort after great hold up play from Delap.

Is that two goals or a hat-trick for Neto?

Dom Smith at MKM Stadium

Stadium announcer updates to say "action has been taken". There have been arrests made, he adds, following alleged discriminatory chanting here at the MKM Stadium.

Hull 0-3 Chelsea

21:09 , Tashan Deniran-Alleyne

66 min: Surely there’s no way back for Hull in this FA Cup fourth round tie. Estevao’s goal feels like it has sealed victory for Chelsea with around 25 minutes to play and the away side force a corner through Delap which almost results in a fourth by Phillips gets a crucial touch.

Hull 0-3 Chelsea

21:07 , Tashan Deniran-Alleyne

63 min: Double change for Hull as Hadziahmetovic and Millar make way for Lundstram and Gelhardt.

Dom Smith at MKM Stadium

21:04 , Tashan Deniran-Alleyne

Brilliant work from Delap there and Estevao is the beneficiary, making it 3-0. Chelsea's job is done. On come Enzo Fernandez and Josh Acheampong for Chelsea.

GOAL! Hull 0-3 Chelsea | Estevao ‘59

21:03 , Tashan Deniran-Alleyne

59 min: GAME OVER!

Superb forward play from Delap and he unselfishly squares for Estevao who slams the the ball home.

Hull 0-2 Chelsea

21:00 , Tashan Deniran-Alleyne

57 min: Wait a minute, is it Pedro Neto’s goal. Some have it down as Jorrel Hato’s goal, didn’t look like the Chelsea defender got a touch but he may have done.

Hull 0-2 Chelsea

20:59 , Tashan Deniran-Alleyne

55 min: Worth a reminder that Chelsea were 2-0 up against Leeds three nights ago and were pegged back to draw. Garnacho tries to extend the visitors’ lead but sends a tame effort straight at Phillips.

Dom Smith at MKM Stadium

20:56 , Tashan Deniran-Alleyne

A scrappy second goal for Chelsea will do very nicely for Liam Rosenior. It's Neto at the double straight from a corner. The Chelsea fans away to my left are chanting Enzo Fernandez's name. He looks likely to come on.

GOAL! Hull 0-2 Chelsea | Pedro Neto ‘51

20:54 , Tashan Deniran-Alleyne

51 min: CHELSEA SCORE AGAIN!

The Chelsea players run to Neto and it appears the winger has scored straight from a corner.

Hull 0-1 Chelsea

20:53 , Tashan Deniran-Alleyne

50 min: Think Rosenior has had a word with James during the break as the Chelsea captain has been in the thick of things at the start of the second half.

Neto gets to the byline and picks out Santos whose header is tipped over by Phillips.

Hull 0-1 Chelsea

HALF-TIME

20:33 , Tashan Deniran-Alleyne

There goes the whistle.

Chelsea lead at the break thanks to a brilliant effort from Pedro Neto.

However, the visitors should really be further ahead at the break as Estevao and Liam Delap have both missed sitters.

Hull 0-1 Chelsea

20:32 , Tashan Deniran-Alleyne

45 min: Into one minute of added time as Neto is booked for a trip.

Dom Smith at MKM Stadium

44 minutes on the clock at the MKM Stadium and the stadium announcer has just informed fans with play ongoing that there has been discriminatory chanting heard. He warns them that CCTV is being used and will be monitored.

Hull 0-1 Chelsea

20:30 , Tashan Deniran-Alleyne

44 min: Should be said, Rosenior’s decision to start Neto in the No10 role has paid off. The Chelsea goalscorer picked up the ball in a central area, took one touch and arrowed his effort past Phillips.

Dom Smith at MKM Stadium

20:27 , Tashan Deniran-Alleyne

In a week where plenty of tacticos have pointed out that long-shots are returning to football this season, Pedro Neto gives Chelsea the lead from outside the box following Estevao and Delap both missing sitters.

Was worth a go. 1-0.

GOAL! Hull 0-1 Chelsea | Pedro Neto ‘40

20:26 , Tashan Deniran-Alleyne

40 min: Neto clips a cross into the box with the outside of his boot, neither Delap or Garnacho can make contact, latter appeals for penalty which is rejected.

It doesn’t matter anyway as Pedro Neto finally breaks the deadlock with a crisp finish from the edge of the area.

Hull 0-0 Chelsea

20:23 , Tashan Deniran-Alleyne

38 min: Hato with a piece of superb defending to get back at Slater to stop a Hull counter-attack. Vital tackle, timed to perfection by the Dutchman.

Hull 0-0 Chelsea

20:22 , Tashan Deniran-Alleyne

37 min: Estevao with one of Chelsea’s best chances of the game but he fired over with an open net to aim at.

Hull 0-0 Chelsea

20:21 , Tashan Deniran-Alleyne

35 min: Phillips not taking any chances when the ball is played back to him now. He is just putting his boot straight through it and clearing the ball as far away from his goal as possible.

Wise decision after what happened with Delap.

Hull 0-0 Chelsea

20:18 , Tashan Deniran-Alleyne

32 min: Lovely turn from Koumas as he rolls Sarr and ends up winning a free-kick for Hull. Coyle with the delivery which is not dealt with by Delap and he ends up putting his team under trouble again, momentarily, with a sliced clearance.

Hull 0-0 Chelsea

20:15 , Tashan Deniran-Alleyne

30 min: Koumas is through on goal and forces Sanchez into a decent save but the whistle had gone for the Hull forward shoving Fofana out of the way to get to the ball.

Dom Smith at MKM Stadium

20:14 , Tashan Deniran-Alleyne

Chelsea not finding Hull that hard to break down... just finding them difficult to actually score against.

Still hard to believe Estevao and Delap missed those gilt-edged opportunities.

Hull's football has been tidy and front-footed in the main. But there are gaps for Chelsea to exploit.

Hull 0-0 Chelsea

20:11 , Tashan Deniran-Alleyne

26 min: Just seen an image from goal-line technology regarding Delap’s effort and my word that was close. All of the ball was not over the line after the Chelsea striker had charged down a clearance from Phillips.

In any case, Delap should have done so much better with the rebound.

Hull 0-0 Chelsea

20:09 , Tashan Deniran-Alleyne

23 min: Defending for Chelsea to do from a corner and Sanchez parries a free-kick from Giles away from danger and that sets the Blues on the attack but Garnacho goes down far too easily and doesn’t get the free-kick he wanted.

Dom Smith at MKM Stadium

20:08 , Tashan Deniran-Alleyne

Estevao and Delap have turned two sitters into actually quite missable chances. Impressive work. 0-0.

Hull 0-0 Chelsea

20:07 , Tashan Deniran-Alleyne

21 min: Incredible let-off for Hull as Phillips makes an error which gifts Delap a golden opportunity, but one that Delap can’t take.

Dom Smith at MKM Stadium

20:03 , Tashan Deniran-Alleyne

I'm stunned Estevao has not found the net there, having had the composure to round goalkeeper Dillon Phillips in the first place.

Hull 0-0 Chelsea

20:02 , Tashan Deniran-Alleyne

17 min: Good ball in by Giles, Koumas mis-kicks the ball and then McCarthy - up from central defence - heads over.

Then at the other end, Estevao does everything superbly, he then rounds the keeper but shoots over with an open net to aim at.

Dom Smith at MKM Stadium

20:00 , Tashan Deniran-Alleyne

It has started doing something in between snowing and raining here in Hull.

Hull 0-0 Chelsea

19:58 , Tashan Deniran-Alleyne

12 min: Nearly an embarrassing moment for James on his return to the Chelsea team. The Blues captain tries to guard the ball out of play but is robbed by Millar who then puts the ball into the box looking for Koumas but Sarr makes a fine block.

Hull 0-0 Chelsea

19:55 , Tashan Deniran-Alleyne

9 min: CHANCES!

Chelsea should be ahead after Garnacho races through and has a shot saved by Phillips but the rebound falls to Neto who doesn’t get enough power on his effort and the ball is cleared.

Dom Smith at MKM Stadium

19:53 , Tashan Deniran-Alleyne

Delap back to head the corner clear and then Garnacho with a block from the volleyed rebound, but a decent start from Hull here as they look to put Chelsea under pressure early.

Hull 0-0 Chelsea

19:51 , Tashan Deniran-Alleyne

5 min: Pedro Neto has the first attempt of the game but he blazes his effort high and wide. The Chelsea winger did well to create space for himself but the shot needed to be a bit lower.

Hull 0-0 Chelsea

19:49 , Tashan Deniran-Alleyne

3 min: Neto has started in the No10 role for Chelsea, Estevao and Garnacho on the flanks.

Hull 0-0 Chelsea

19:48 , Tashan Deniran-Alleyne

2 min: Strong start by Hull as Koumas makes a smart run behind the Chelsea defence. A cross causes some concern for the visitors but Sanchez comes and claims the ball to release the pressure.

Dom Smith at MKM Stadium

One of our colleagues at The Standard is sat in the home end tonight - a Hull City season ticket-holder. He reliably informs me that this is a weakened lineup tonight.

Increasingly you see EFL clubs doing that in the cup competitions, even against Premier League opposition.

It probably speaks to the fact promotion from the Championship is very much the primary priority for the Tigers. They sit fourth.

Understandably with eight days' rest after this, Rosenior goes strong against  Championship high-fliers Hull.

This is Mamadou Sarr's first-ever Chelsea start and I can see why Sanchez starts instead of Sharman-Lowe, despite Rosenior insisting he's happy to call on the 22-year-old if he ever needs to.

Estevao in the No10 position should make the trip worth it for those Chelsea fans who have travelled up to east Yorkshire.

Hull overcome Blackburn

18:20 , Tashan Deniran-Alleyne

Hull needed a penalty shootout in round three to overcome fellow Championship side Blackburn following a goalless 120 minutes at the MKM.

Chelsea thump Charlton

18:15 , Tashan Deniran-Alleyne

Liam Rosenior turned to Chelsea's second string for his first game in charge as they thrashed Charlton 5-1 at the Valley to ease into the fourth round of the FA Cup.

Goals from Jorrel Hato, Tosin Adarabioyo and Marc Guiu completed a straightforward enough assignment before Pedro Neto and Enzo Fernandez from the penalty spot added the gloss late on.

Sterling on the move

18:10 , Tashan Deniran-Alleyne

Raheem Sterling has joined Feyenoord on a short-term deal until the end of the season following his exit from Chelsea.

Sterling on Thursday afternoon signed a contract with the Dutch giants following talks with their manager Robin van Persie, the former Arsenal and Manchester United striker, which were significant in his decision to join the club.

It comes after an agreement was reached last month for Sterling’s contract at Chelsea to be terminated 18 months early by mutual consent. He was on a £325,000-a-week deal as Chelsea’s highest earner yet had been exiled from the Blues’ first-team squad.

There has been significant interest in Sterling since he became a free agent, but he is now heading to the Netherlands.

Chelsea youngster poised for debut

18:05 , Tashan Deniran-Alleyne

Liam Rosenior is ready to call upon Teddy Sharman-Lowe as the young goalkeeper closes in on a senior Chelsea debut.

The 22-year-old has been on the bench for each of Chelsea’s last four Premier League games and Rosenior says he has “got no worries” about picking the England Under-21 international.

Sharman-Lowe’s recent inclusion as a substitute has come while usual No2 Filip Jorgensen is sidelined through injury.

It could present an opportunity for him to play at Hull in the FA Cup fourth round on Friday night, if Rosenior wishes to rest first-choice goalkeeper Robert Sanchez as one of a number of potential changes to his starting lineup.

Predicted Chelsea XI

18:00 , Tashan Deniran-Alleyne

Liam Rosenior is expected to ring the changes when he names his team to face the club he has represented as both a player and a manager.

That means Reece James may not start even if he is passed fit, as Rosenior could also call on Malo Gusto or Josh Acheampong at right-back.

It is likely that regular starters such as Joao Pedro, Cole Palmer and Trevoh Chalobah will be handed a rest, and there could be a change of goalkeeper if Rosenior also wishes to rest Robert Sanchez.

Chelsea predicted XI (4-2-3-1): Sanchez; Gusto, Sarr, Badiashile, Hato; Caicedo, Santos; Neto, Estevao, Garnacho; Delap.
