Hugo Lloris's wife has posted an image of the Tottenham goalkeeper's current state after it was revealed that he will be out of action for up to two months with a knee injury. The 36-year-old already faced an uncertain future at the club with his contract ending in 2024 and his injury has further complicated matters.
The incident occurred towards the end of the 1-0 win over Manchester City on Sunday and is likely to leave summer acquisition Fraser Forster as a deputy in between the sticks. The capped England keeper joined for free in the summer and has only played once in the league this season.
The absence of club captain Lloris comes at a time in which Antonio Conte is also facing a spell away from action after surgery to remove his gall bladder. The pair are both likely to miss the first leg of Spurs' Champions League tie against AC Milan next week though Conte's timeframe is less certain than Lloris.

The keeper, who has been at the club since 2012, has come under pressure this season due to a string of errors. As he enters the final 18 months of his contract and the search for a new shot-stopper continues Lloris's spell out will only add to the discourse around his future.
Now, Marine Lloris has posted an image of Lloris' knee in a brace online. In an Instagram story with a sad face and a heart, he has a support mechanism to help his recovery in the coming weeks.
In the meantime new club record goalscorer Harry Kane will wear the armband after breaking Jimmy Greaves' tally for the club with his match-winning strike against City. Lloris could return in April for the away trip to Everton if his recovery goes smoothly. It would see him miss matches against Leicester City, West Ham, Chelsea, Wolves and Nottingham Forest, as well as the FA Cup fifth-round clash at Sheffield United.
A return six weeks on after sustaining the injury would see him return on the weekend of Saturday, March 18 when the FA Cup quarter-finals are due to be played.
If it is to be eight weeks on the sidelines for the former France international, Conte and Spurs could welcome him back after the first international break of 2023 for the game at Goodison Park.
